Scada Instrumentation Technician I

A person in this position performs intermediate technical work in the installation maintenance and repair of process measurements and control systems electrical/electronic control and power distribution systems continuous emissions monitoring systems SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems and other systems required for operation of treatment plants pumping stations and related facilities and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the SCADA/Instrumentation Supervisor.

This position requires a thorough knowledge of the installation repair and maintenance of electrical power distribution and instrumentation systems; thorough knowledge of water and wastewater treatment process operation of Pure Oxygen Plant; general knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions required in the work; general knowledge of tools equipment automation and materials needed to perform effectively in electrical and electronic tasks; thorough knowledge of methods practices and procedures in electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repair work; ability to read and interpret drawings sketches and schematics; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms; ability to diagnose improper operation of equipment or devices and to take proper corrective or remedial action; ability to complete records and reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates engineers regulatory agency representatives and associates.

The position requires the following:

• Associates/Technical degree in electronics electrical instrumentation computerized controls or related field and minimal experience in installation maintenance and repair of electrical/electronic systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid drivers license in the state of North Carolina
