Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Under the direction of the Director of Student Support Services, this role is for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). Provide specialized instruction and services in the area of language and speech assessment and development for eligible students 18 months to 22 years of age. Essential duties and responsibilities include identifying students with speech, hearing, and language issues, determining the severity and extent of the issue(s) and the need for enrollment, notifying parents, teachers, and administrators as to the result of the screening process and recommendations for service, providing parents, teachers, and administrators with information regarding the speech and language therapy program, implementing instructional plans developed by the IEP Team, evaluating student progress and effectiveness of the therapy program used, developing an effective and efficient schedule in cooperation with the classroom teacher for providing quality service to the student(s), providing building administrators and teaching staff with information on the development of language training programs for children in regular and special classes, providing the necessary documentation for screening, assessment, and IEP procedures, monitoring compliance for timelines and assuring due process, maintaining student discipline to insure students benefit as much as possible from therapy sessions, maintaining a professional appearance, conduct, and attitude as well as a comfortable and attractive therapy setting, attending staff meetings, workshops, and conferences as necessary, and complying with State and Federal Mandates.
Requirements/Qualifications: California SLP credential (or ability to obtain with prior out-of-state credential).
