What You'll Do:
As a SICU Registered Nurse, you will be at the forefront of critical patient care, managing complex post-op and surgical recovery cases, including transplant patients and those requiring advanced hemodynamic support. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, utilizing your skills to ensure optimal outcomes in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting. Your role may involve participating in emergency response teams, maintaining flexibility with unit assignments, and delivering top-tier nursing care in a supportive and professionally challenging environment.


Required Skills:

• Proven experience with Epic electronic health records system
• Strong knowledge of ICU protocols, especially post-op CARE for CABG, valve surgeries, aortic dissections, and transplant recoveries
• Experience with PA catheters, balloon pumps, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to emergency situations and fluctuating patient needs

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience with CVICU care, managing post-operative cardiac patients and IABP therapy
• Knowledge of transplant recovery protocols across multiple organ types
• Additional certifications in advanced cardiovascular life support and specialized ICU procedures

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU or surgical recovery experience, specifically in a high-acuity setting

Other Requirements:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale preferred
• Willingness to participate in emergency standby and relief teams as needed, including night shifts (3x12-hour shifts: 19:15 - 07:15) starting April 13, 2026
• Flexibility to float to other ICU or Step-Down units as required
• Commitment to adherence to hospital policies, safety protocols, and emergency response procedures
