You will never stop learning at Nucor – and when you are ready to take the next step in your career, we’re ready, too.Basic Job Functions:Nucor Towers & Structures Inc, a division of Nucor, the nation's largest recycler and largest manufacturer of steel and steel products, is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Engineering Manager at our business unit located in Rock Hill, SC. Specific job responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:Lead a team of Engineers, Estimators, and/or Detailers to provide quotes, designs, and drawings for transmission, distribution, substation, or other utility structures; primarily tubular steel poles, arms, and accessories.This position reports to the Director of the Engineering Department.Interview and hire new teammates to build the team.Provide mentorship, coaching, and accountability to teammates.Ensure consistent application of current design policies, procedures, and practices.Manage the team’s priorities and set expectations.Guide teammates to deliver quality work, on time, with consistent results.Be active within Division leadership team to drive continuous improvement and overall success of the business.Support sales team through customer interactions, promoting our value proposition and cultivating deeper partnerships.Make decisions with other engineering department leaders to provide safe and competitive product designs.Travel is required to visit customers, support plants, exhibit at trade shows, and more.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in EngineeringRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months of start datePreferred Qualifications:Prior leadership experience2+ years of utility pole/tower structures industry experience2+ years steel products design or structural steel connection design experienceDegree specifically with Structural emphasisMaster’s degree in engineering or businessWilling to relocate for future advancement opportunities within NucorNucor is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a drug-free workplace
