Job Summary


The Custodian-Floater is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and healthy environment at a variety of sites throughout the District.

The competitive basis for this recruitment is established as Open/Promotional-Dual Certification. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications are provided with a study guide and then complete an online multiple choice test.

Candidates who pass the test are placed on an eligibility list in order of overall exam score. The eligibility list is used to fill vacancies withing a six month period.

If a candidate has taken the multiple choice and/or performance test for this San Dieguito Union High School District job title or similar job title within the past two years, candidate may be able to transfer the scores to this recruitment. The exam must be sufficiently similar, as determined by the Director, Classified Personnel. The probationary period for a new or promotional employee is six months or 130 days of paid service, whichever is longer. Management employees serve a probationary period of one year.
