Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years License: Current state RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: - EPIC experience - Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment - Experience with stable chronic ventilators - Knowledge of IV start techniques preferred - Experience in trauma level 1 or 2 settings preferred - Availability to work every other weekend and holiday Description: Targeted patient ratios are 1:4, but they can be up to 1:5-6. For a 48-hour contract, overtime is paid out after 48 hours. Traveler will be the first to float at the discretion of the supervisor. Agency will float in and out of specialty clusters. Assignments will be medically appropriate for the unit floated to. Position may include floating between different campuses. Travelers should expect to work every other weekend and holiday. The organization reserves the right to cancel two shifts due to low census during the contract period. The organization also reserves the right to cancel the agreement with two weeks' notice without a fee or fine. Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives. Requests for time off must be submitted with the initial application; no additional requests will be accepted after the offer is made. Approval for time off will be at the manager's discretion. Applications must include a current Nursys report. No additional certifications are required if listed on the application. Daily census is typically around 23 patients, with 23 available beds. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Common patient diagnoses include COPD, CHF, COVID-19, GI bleed, and cancer complications. Special procedures include chest tube management and insulin drip administration. Special equipment includes cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and oxygen monitors. All lab work must be completed in a timely manner as required. EKG/dysrhythmia exams must be completed within specified timeframes.
