Histotechnician II

Position Details Day Shift Hours: (Mon‑Fri) with a set start time of 5:00 am. Flexible schedule: 4 or 5 days per week at 10‑ or 8‑hour shifts starting at 5:00 am. Possible weekend rotation. No holidays. Experience Non‑regulated experience with at least 3 years in histology (embedding/microtomy) considered. HT‑ASCP or ASCP‑HTL certification. Embedding, microtomy and IHC experience (preferred). Requirements HT (ASCP) or equivalent certification. High school diploma or GED. 1 year of experience preferred. Responsibilities Understands test principles, theory, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of all instrumentation in assigned areas. Microtomy, embedding, staining, reagent preparation; performs and documents quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation. Performs special stains and immunohistochemistry (manual or automated) after reagent preparation. Utilizes critical‑thinking skills to perform above tasks and responsibilities. Trained to complete tissue gross examination as needed. Must meet the “High Complexity” qualifications as written in CLIA 42CFR493.
