Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations for children, adults, and seniors utilizing standardized testing and keen observation.
- Craft individualized treatment blueprints that tackle both immediate and continuing communication and swallowing goals.
- Engage in dedicated speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing fluency, articulation, voice, and swallowing techniques.
- Collaborate seamlessly with an interdisciplinary team including therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers to cultivate integrated care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on ways to support ongoing progress beyond their sessions.
- Assist in providing inpatient speech therapy evaluations when needed, ensuring comprehensive care throughout treatment.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation that aligns with all relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Commit to continuous professional development through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Education
- A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if ASHA certification is not yet achieved.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
