Clinical Educator, Assistant/Associate/Professor

Clinical Educators are physicians who engage in clinical care, scholarship and teaching to advance the mission of Charles R. Drew University. The primary work is as a clinical faculty member who teaches and advances scholarship with medical students, residents and other health profession trainees in their respective clinical setting.

Essential duties and responsibilities include providing evidenced-based education for residents and medical students, supervising and overseeing residents and medical students during rotations, contributing to the rotation curriculum and evaluation, attending and delivering didactic sessions, participating in scholarly activity and research, and participating in departmental and hospital committees.

The position requires an M.D. or D.O. from a nationally accredited university, completion of an ACGME accredited residency program, board eligibility or certification, and a valid, unrestricted California medical license. Experience as a licensed clinical provider and academic credentials appropriate for appointment to the COM faculty are also required.

The position also requires strong verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of CDU’s mission, and working knowledge of general university and department policies and procedures.

The physical and mental demands of the job include frequent standing, walking, sitting, and a variety of unrelated and interrelated tasks requiring sustained concentration, reasoning, judgment, resourcefulness, analytical ability, and ingenuity.

Compensation for this position is $245,000.00 - $260,000.00 annually. The employment status of this position is classified as "Conditional" and is contingent upon funding limitations or the duration of a specific program, project, grant, or contract.
