Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Process Engineer – Automotive Manufacturing to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive manufacturing, process development, compression molding, and continuous improvement.

This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve production efficiency, product quality, equipment performance, and overall operational effectiveness. The Process Engineer will work closely with production, quality, engineering, and research and development teams to support manufacturing excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes within an automotive production environment.
• Optimize compression molding equipment, machinery, and manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with Research and Development teams to develop new manufacturing processes.
• Analyze manufacturing data, production metrics, and machinery KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
• Establish optimal molding parameters to ensure consistent quality and production efficiency.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Design and develop tooling, fixtures, and components to improve manufacturing processes.
• Monitor product quality and implement corrective measures to reduce defects and production waste.
• Develop, update, and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) documentation.
• Utilize structured problem-solving methodologies, including A3 and 5 Why Analysis.
• Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions, setup procedures, and process documentation.
• Prepare process reports, deviation documentation, and annual process verifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete engineering projects on time and within budget.
• Communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal departments regarding technical and manufacturing requirements.
• Identify and address workplace safety concerns within manufacturing operations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Bachelor of Science preferred.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing process development.
• Experience working in an automotive manufacturing or industrial production facility.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, process optimization, and production equipment.
• Understanding of automotive industry manufacturing requirements.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and industrial controls.
• Familiarity with robotics, automation, and mechatronics.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Understanding of forming and assembly manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical, technical troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
