Job Opportunity

Position: Infection Preventionist

We are seeking a skilled Infection Preventionist to join our team at an acute care hospital. This role will be focused on implementing and managing infection prevention practices independently.

Shift Details

Schedule: Day Shift, Monday to Friday
Hours: 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM
No weekends or holidays required

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience is required.
Experience in infection prevention is essential.
Degree in Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or a related health science field is preferred.
CIC certification is required.
Epic experience is highly preferred.
Previous house supervisor experience will be considered if infection prevention experience is demonstrated.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and monitor infection prevention protocols and practices.
Conduct surveillance and disease reporting related to infections.
Educate staff on infection prevention strategies and best practices.
Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement.
Ensure compliance with CDC guidelines and regulatory standards.

Skills Required

Strong knowledge of healthcare acquired infections (HAIs) and antibiotic stewardship.
Familiarity with environmental cleaning and equipment reprocessing guidelines.
Experience in isolation practices and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.
Ability to report on compliance with national safety goals and prevent infection outbreaks.

Additional Information

Local applicants within a 50-mile radius are preferred.
The facility offers free parking and has a total of 426 staffed beds.
This is a non-RN position; candidates from various health science backgrounds are welcome to apply.
