Houston, TX • Water Conveyance Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Water Conveyance Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to hydraulic modeling and master planning projects for public agencies and private developers. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, self-driven, and capable of developing strong client relationships. Experience with feasibility studies and performing complex hydraulic calculations is essential, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Job SummaryProfessional Engineer with general instruction will independently perform engineering system design during all phases of multiple, simultaneous projects by performing design calculations, specifications, interpreting and preparing reports, applying techniques and procedures, preparing cost estimates, impact studies, permits and designs/deliverable drawings. Job ResponsibilitiesManages and perform system design, including calculations, equipment selection, layout, and drawing preparation. Plan and conduct evaluation and site observation. Review project documents, specifications, and design options; ensure code compliance through meetings and reviews. Make recommendations based on findings.Conduct site investigations and technical research to support design decisions. May mentor, lead or supervise staff; assign tasks and checks work for accuracy. Apply standard engineering practices and software tools to produce high-quality deliverables. Demonstrates working knowledge of relevant codes and design standards. Build and develop internal and external relationships Perform other duties as assigned. RequirementsRequired Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in EngineeringProfessional Engineer License (PE)4+ years’ experiencePreferred Education & ExperienceValid driver’s licenseTo understand the concepts of Hydraulic analysis of water and/or wastewater systemsLicensed as a Professional Engineer (PE)AICP certification is a plusGIS applications using ArcGIS ProKnowledge of Innovyze or Bentley modeling softwares (e.g., WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater Pro, InfoWorks ICM)Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc.
