About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Current Epic experience required License: Active RN License Certifications: None specified Must-Have: Epic experience Description: Total bed count for the hospital is 122. The unit has 3 triage beds, 10 postpartum beds, and 3 LDR beds. Staffing on the unit consists of 6 RNs. Call is required and may include being on call or low census up to 4 times. Floating to other units is required. No weekend coverage is required, but every 2-3 weekends may be necessary. The medication system used is Omnicell. The EMR system utilized is Cerner and Intellispace Perinatal. IV teams are not available on the unit. No lift teams are present. Pharmacy hours are from 0700 to 2100. Phlebotomy services are available on the unit. Only 2 for the hospital. There is no transport team available. No unit secretary is present on the unit. Intensivist services are available 24/7 for ICU. There are no hospitalist services for OB. Special equipment used on this unit includes an epidural pump. Special procedures performed on this unit include C-sections and newborn circumcision. Scrubs are provided. The unit offers labor, postpartum care, newborn care, triage, surgery and recovery, lactation services, and is designated as a Baby Friendly facility. This is an exclusive Epic assignment.
