Registered Nurse - PACU - Full Time Days

Position Summary Plans, implements, and evaluates pre‑and post‑anesthesia patient care and pain management services in a timely and accurate manner. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive assessment of all patients upon admission to the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Develop and implement individualized care plans, nursing diagnoses, and interventions. Collaborate with surgical team members to coordinate patient care and ensure timely delivery. Provide education, emotional and psychosocial support to patients and families. Administer medications safely, handle equipment (epidural pumps, Omnicell, Meditech, etc.). Document accurately and promptly, including reassessment and modification of care plans. Assist with transport, positioning, and lift patients as needed. Participate in staff development and training of new staff. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's or associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. Valid Registered Nurse license in Tennessee. ACLS certification (must obtain if not currently certified). One year of experience in PACU Phase I/II, CCU or Emergency Room settings. BLS certification within 90 days of hire. PALS certification within 90 days of hire. Ability to respond within thirty minutes for on‑call requirements. Proficiency with Omnicell Medication System, Meditech Order Entry and related technology. Strong ability to perform under pressure and adapt to varying clinical settings. Ability to stand/work up to 12 hours, lift up to 250 lbs with assistance, transport patients. Strong communication skills in English, written and verbal. Physical Demands Work in a Post Anesthesia Care Unit/Holding Area serving all age groups, from newborn to >99 years old.
