Equipment Operations Specialist

The Equipment Operations Specialist coordinates the deployment, utilization tracking, and maintenance scheduling of the company's equipment fleet, combining hands-on logistics coordination with recordkeeping and regulatory compliance to support field operations. Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below:

1. Coordinate with field personnel and dispatch to support equipment needs and ensure timely deployment to project sites.
2. Evaluate equipment requests submitted through the dispatch system, prioritizing the use of company-owned assets and recommending preferred rental vendors as needed.
3. Support coordination and seasonal deployment of long-term rental (LTR) equipment.
4. Coordinate equipment ownership transfers with the Equipment Operations Manager and Business Operations Manager and process approved transfers in Vista.
5. Review weekly equipment utilization and on-rent reports to identify underutilized company assets or overutilized rental equipment and initiate corrective action.
6. Manage true-ups and hour usage on rental and owned equipment, respond to field questions on equipment charges, and support equipment rate-building.
7. Prepare rental spending, cost, and control reports; analyze trends and recommend cost-effective practices; and assist in the preparation of cost studies.
8. Assist in reviewing and approving rental invoices above a pre-determined threshold.
9. Monitor equipment repair and down status, coordinating with Shop Foremen and Shop Clerks on service needs to forecast availability and support field operations.
10. Serve as the logistical point person monitoring telematics systems to maintain current Preventive Maintenance schedules and track equipment locations, recommending the nearest available units to support field requests.
11. Track equipment service history and prepare preventive maintenance reports to support equipment reliability and compliance.
12. Verify completion of ongoing maintenance activities against company benchmarks and performance metrics.
13. Track warranty coverage for all company-owned equipment to ensure cost-effective maintenance and repair decisions.
14. Prepare and process on-highway, off-highway, and specialty equipment for disposal, in conjunction with the Equipment Operations Manager.
15. Issue asset numbers for owned and rented equipment, on-road and off-road (including Car Allowance Personnel), and assign auxiliary tanks.
16. Prepare and distribute weekly Oil Sample Reports to Operations Managers.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

• External Clients: Rental vendors, manufacturers, service providers, and regulatory agencies.
• Internal Clients: Dispatch, Superintendents, Project Managers, Estimators, Shop Foremen, Shop Clerks, and other members of the Mobile Equipment team.

Education:

• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.

Experience and Industry Expertise:

• Minimum of five years of resource allocation or similar experience required.
• Experience in heavy equipment allocation preferred

Specific Job Requirements:

• Successful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation
• Current on all company required safety and regulatory training

• Comprehensive knowledge and/or willingness to learn heavy equipment needs and use

Equipment Used, Physical Demands, and Work Environment Equipment Used:

• General office equipment, telephone, automobile, personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection) when visiting plants.

• Physical: Sitting for long periods of time working on the computer or attending meetings. Job site visits require walking on uneven ground, steep slopes, and exposure to extreme temperature and/or humidity. Some lifting of materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Work Environment: Typical office environment with adequate temperatures and lighting, low levels of noise. Demands of meeting tight deadlines. Exposed to the conditions of job sites which can include loud noise, dust, fumes, and extreme weather conditions prevalent at the time. May work various hours, including early mornings, dusk or evenings.

BASE SALARY RANGE:$82,500.00 - $115,500.00 The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
