Certified Respiratory Therapist

Shifts Available : Nights ($3 to $5 per hour diff in pay) Employment Type : Full-time Hours: 12-hour shifts - 6:30pm to 7:00am Location : Providence Medical Center - Kansas City, KS We are seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist , also referred to as our Respiratory Care Practitioner I (RCP I) . The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is someone who carries out respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, based on physician orders. They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population, in the absence of a supervisor . Responsibilities If you are a Registered Respiratory Therapist ( RRT ) or Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) you are encouraged to apply for this position! W ill provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily C onduct tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients S et up, monitor , and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently M ay be part of a rapid response team in emergencies, which you will provid e airway management, perform intubations, and resuscitat e patients in critical situations A ssess patients' respiratory status, monitor their progress, and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed E nsure that all respiratory equipment is properly cleaned , sterilized, and maintained to prevent infections and ensure patient safety Qualifications Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
