Position Overview Mind Oak Health Care Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT) to join our team in Flushing, New York, in a full-time, remote capacity. In this role, you will provide culturally competent mental health services to a variety of clients, with a primary focus on underserved communities. Our work hours, Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, provide a structured schedule with some flexibility to meet patient needs. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to gain insight into patients' backgrounds and tailor treatment plans accordingly. Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care, customized to meet the individual needs of each patient. Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions, focusing on enhancing coping skills and overall mental resilience. Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers within an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care effectively. Provide immediate crisis intervention and support, including during mental health emergencies, ensuring timely and effective assistance. Educate patients and their families on mental health issues, available treatments, and community resources to promote understanding and awareness. Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation compliant with legal and ethical standards, ensuring patient information is handled with the utmost care. Engage actively in team meetings, case reviews, and training sessions focused on enhancing cultural competency knowledge. Stay updated on current research and innovations in mental health therapy, continuously improving the quality of care delivered. Patient Population / Client Focus You will serve a diverse clientele, including individuals from various ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Our focus is on delivering care to those who may historically face barriers in accessing mental health services, fostering trust and understanding through culturally knowledgeable approaches. Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution. Current and valid state licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT. Demonstrated expertise in mental health assessment and treatment methodologies, particularly in working with diverse populations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to providing empathetic and non-judgmental care. Preferred Experience Experience working within a community health clinic or outpatient setting, particularly with marginalized or underserved groups. Familiarity with various evidence-based therapeutic techniques, and the ability to implement them effectively in diverse scenarios. Engagement in ongoing professional development, particularly in cultural competence and trauma-informed care. Compensation and Benefits This role offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $100,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
