Pay Rate: Up to $54.56/hr (1.5x Overtime Available)

Job Type: Contract (1 Year Expected Duration | 08/24/2026 – 08/30/2027)

About the Role

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking an experienced Shift Operations Supervisor to join a high-impact team supporting the largest public energy provider in the U.S. Located in Cumberland City, TN, this critical leadership role oversees daily power plant operations, ensures strict safety and regulatory compliance, and drives operational excellence across shift teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Plan, direct, and oversee plant shift operations to ensure high reliability, safety, and full compliance with TVA policies, Technical Specifications, and federal/state/local regulations.
• Shift Management & Turnovers: Manage daily shift priorities, conduct shift turnover briefings, and direct cross-functional teams to maintain seamless power plant output.
• Emergency Leadership: Serve as the Site Emergency Director (until relieved) during emergency plan activations, ensuring timely agency notifications and response management.
• Acting Senior Operations Manager: Step in for the Operations Manager as needed—resolving conflicts, reallocating resources, and prioritizing safe plant operations.
• Team Development & HR: Lead, mentor, and train shift personnel; conduct performance evaluations, manage technical/soft skills development, and handle employee relations.
• Continuous Improvement: Model safety-first behaviors through critical management observations, process self-assessments, root-cause corrective actions, and TVA Leadership Principles.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field OR equivalent combination of education, technical training, and hands-on experience.
• Experience:
• • Minimum 5 years of Coal Power Plant operations experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or team-lead role.
  • Practical background as a Unit Operator .
• Certifications & Clearances:

• • Must possess an S4 Medical Clearance and Clearance Qualified / Entry Qualification Requirements completion.
  • Responsible Employee Status per Power Operations Conduct Protective Tagging Procedure & Switchyard training.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain security clearance if required.
• Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work rotating or assigned shift schedules as required by plant operational needs.
• Key Skills: Strong leadership, critical thinking, conflict resolution, and communication skills across all plant levels.
