Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Registered Nurse (RN) on our Float/Flex Team, you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high‑quality care that truly impacts our patients' well‑being and recovery while presenting a positive attitude and being reliable. Responsibilities Utilize the nursing process to ensure appropriate patient care is provided in a cost‑effective, quality‑driven, and patient‑focused manner. Collect pertinent social, psychological, developmental and spiritual data from the patient, significant others, and other healthcare team members. Perform ongoing assessment, formulate nursing diagnosis and goals, plan appropriate interventions, and evaluate the outcome of the interventions. Consistently document in the patient and unit records according to written health system standards of care to meet legal and quality patient care requirements. Provide appropriate teaching and information to patients and families on pain management, nutrition, skin integrity, fall prevention, diabetes, disease process, smoking cessation, and discharge instructions. Demonstrate commitment to the goals and values of the patient, hospital, community, and nursing profession through cost containment measures, maintaining confidentiality, appropriate ethical decision‑making, and ensuring patient safety. Use interventions substantiated by research as appropriate in the patient population, participate in research activities, identify opportunities for research, and collaborate with the outcomes managers and department. Qualifications Associate of Applied Science Nursing Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire. At least one (1) year of RN experience. Registered Nurse: Texas, upon hire. Basic Life Support – CPR, within 14 days of hire. Location St. Luke’s Health – The Woodlands Hospital, a 245‑bed facility serving North Harris and Montgomery counties.
