About the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine:

The Comprehensive Cystic Fibrosis Center within the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology is fully accredited by the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, offering both Pediatric and Adult Programs. These initiatives provide top-notch, multidisciplinary care for cystic fibrosis patients throughout the state. At the Pediatric CF Clinic, a dedicated and collaborative team—including pediatric pulmonologists, nurses, nutritionists, social workers, respiratory therapists, genetic counselors, and pharmacists—ensures comprehensive patient care.

Moreover, the Aerodigestive Clinic within the division is focused on enhancing outcomes for children with intricate needs, including those reliant on tracheostomies and ventilators. This program thrives on robust interdisciplinary collaboration among specialists in Pediatric Pulmonology, Otolaryngology (ENT), Gastroenterology, and Speech-Language Pathology.

In 2020, our organization inaugurated the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion, a cutting-edge, 250-bed facility dedicated to comprehensive care for women and children. The campus also features the Charles P. Darby Children’s Research Institute—one of only 15 in the nation—and the Summey Medical Pavilion, which provides pediatric specialty services all in one location.

Required Qualifications:

• Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology

• Passionate about our educational missions and eager to teach

• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal abilities, with an interest in program development

Position Highlights:

• A dedicated children’s ambulatory campus and hospital featuring multidisciplinary pediatric subspecialties, laboratories, pharmacies, infusion suites, and radiology

• Collaboration with pediatric ENT, GI, cardiology, and various other specialties

• Join a cooperative team of 4 pulmonary faculty, 2 sleep faculty, and 2 pulmonary APPs

• Outpatient schedule includes 4 days in clinic and 1 day for administrative duties

• The division primarily operates as a consult service, managing approximately 30+ patients weekly

• A comprehensive pediatric pulmonary function lab, including exercise testing

• Opportunity to develop an inpatient Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia team in close partnership with NICU and PICU
