HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

 

Skate One is seeking an experience Human Resources Manager to oversee the day-to-day HR operations for a skateboard manufacturing company celebrating its 50th year in the Santa Barbara-Goleta area. This position manages programs and policies for staffing, benefits, employee relations, and health and safety which regulates the working relationships between employees as well as their managers, according to best industry practices. Maintain compliance with federal and state laws and regulations as to promote the best interests of the company. Supervises the company’s Human Resources/Payroll Administrator.

 

Primary duties include, but not limited to the following

· Oversee the company’s 401(k) plan and worker’s compensation program

· Manage the company’s health benefits program, including annual open enrollment

· Manage the recruitment and selection hiring process (employees and temporary staff) 

· Administer the Family Medical Care Leave/California Family Rights Act (FMLA/CFRA), Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL)

· Conducts new employee orientations

· Responsible for documentation related to personnel recordkeeping, including workplace safety and training including the confidentiality and privacy of all personnel files and employee handbook. Keeps records of employment statistics for government reporting (EE0-1 and FEHA)

 

Qualifications and Experience

· 5 -7 years professional HR experience with at least 3 years in a management

· Familiar with federal, state, local requirements and existing labor regulations

· Experience managing in a manufacturing environment with a bi-lingual employee base

· Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, including computer skills (Excel, Microsoft word in a Mac based environment)

· Experience with HRIS and payroll system

 

Education

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and/or holds a Human Resources Management Professional certificate
