Sales and Use Tax Specialist

Job Title

This is an onsite part-time position. They are flexible on hours, but would prefer someone working 2.5 days a week onsite. Pay rate will depend on experience.

Job Description

Experienced sales and use tax specialist > 5 years

Preparation of over 50 sales and use tax returns (monthly, quarterly, annually)

Sales and use tax technical analysis, research and interpretation

Reverse use tax audits for various states

Sales and use tax engine (TR or Vertex) experience

Point person for site-by-site tax engine SAP implementation

Process improvement involving variety of ERP systems

Collaboration with accounts payable, procurement, sales and accounts receivable

Sales and use tax general ledger account reconciliations

Prepare sales tax exemption documents and maintain a database of executed resale and exemption certificates supplied to vendors

Collection and maintenance of customer resale and exemption certificates

Prepare 1099 forms

Addressing notices from taxing authorities/point person for sales/use tax audits

Respond to internal inquiries related to taxability

Other duties as assigned
