Special Education Teacher Assistant

Overview Bonnie Cone Classical Academy is currently accepting applications for a Special Education Teacher Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check. Responsibilities Assist in the implementation of IEPs for students with disabilities, following specific goals and objectives outlined by the EC Teacher. Help the EC Teacher with delivering instruction in various subjects, adapting materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of students. Help maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment, promoting respectful behavior and encouraging student engagement. Support students in participating in learning activities, providing one-on-one or small group assistance as needed. Observe and document student performance and behavior, providing feedback to the EC Teacher regarding individual student progress. Work closely with the EC Teacher, general education teachers, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning. Encourage social interactions among students, helping them build friendships and navigate social situations within the classroom and school environment. Assist in preparing and organizing instructional materials, resources, and equipment for classroom activities. Maintain open lines of communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise. Other duties as assigned.
