HVAC Controls Systems Technician Team Leader

About the Role Field Technician Team Lead – responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day activities of a field technician team, planning monthly routes, and ensuring profitability, safety, and client satisfaction through effective leadership and operational management. Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of field technician team, plan monthly routes, and manage team performance. Analyze team performance, recommend changes to improve safety, profitability, and client satisfaction. Maintain customer satisfaction while balancing financial goals. Ensure safety compliance and adherence to company policies. Provide leadership to assigned teams, ensuring developmental plans are in place. Lead execution of business plans and ensure consistency of delivery systems. Coordinate team work with sales to support all sales opportunities, including linkage to installation. Identify and elevate market opportunities to regional or branch leadership. Drive growth and proper profit levels for serviced account portfolios. Recommend and support staffing requirements for the assigned business. Serve as a communication channel for standard process strategies and results, supporting SSNA vision. Implement plans to comply with HVAC operations standards and audit effectiveness. Ensure all contractual obligations are completed and customer satisfaction is achieved. Lead service and installation operational review meetings, reviewing bids and estimates for accuracy. Apply branch workforce management and deployment of overall resources. Analyze operations processes and provide recommendations for improvements. Execute other managerial responsibilities, including performance reviews and acquisitions. Recruit, hire, and retain operational staff. Prepare and deliver clear performance expectations, performance reviews, and development plans for direct reports. Coach and conduct monthly one‑on‑ones, operational and financial reviews. Work with team leaders to ensure proper workforce and skill levels for profitable execution. Perform other duties related to customer satisfaction, deployment of initiatives, and account management of service customers. Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years of progressive operational experience in HVAC services. At least three (3) years of management experience with responsibility for productivity and development of others. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent working experience. Preferred: Johnson Controls Metasys experience. Preferred: Eight (8) years’ experience in an operational HVAC role with leadership responsibilities. Preferred: Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Salary & Benefits Salary range: $89,000 – $134,000 (determined by education, experience, skills, and market data). The role offers a competitive bonus plan based on individual, group, and corporate performance.
