Job Title: General Toxicology Associate Scientist

Location: Newark, DE

Duration: Contract - 12 months

Shift: Days, 06:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m

Job Description

Have strong experience in rodent handling, GLP-compliant laboratory practices, and in-life study execution, and a proven ability to collect and document high-quality data, administer test substances, and operate within SOPs and study protocols.

Responsibilities:

Provide humane care and careful handling/restraint of laboratory rodents.

Administer test substances via diet, gavage, intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, and other routes as assigned.

Perform in-life assessments including body weight, food consumption, clinical observations, eye exam support, and biological sample collection.

Collect blood via tail vein and urine samples with accurate documentation.

Record data manually and electronically; use Provantis Integrated Preclinical Software when applicable.

Maintain study files and related information with accuracy and timeliness.

Communicate with Study Directors, peers, supervisors, and attending veterinarian.

Follow protocols, SOPs, GLPs, and safety guidelines; address QA audit findings.

Learn and refine laboratory skills and techniques; assist teammates as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

B.S. in animal science, biology, or related field, with 2+ years of relevant experience; equivalent education and work experience considered.

Hands-on rodent handling experience in a laboratory or academic setting; vet tech experience acceptable when combined with rodent experience.

Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques and in-life toxicology procedures.

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn validated systems such as Provantis.

Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and quality focus.

Ability to prioritize under time constraints, work independently and in teams, and follow safety practices

Preferred Skills:

Experience in GLP laboratories and AAALAC-accredited facilities.

Familiarity with Provantis Integrated Preclinical Software.
