Role Description The Payroll Accountant is a full‑time, hybrid role based in Fort Collins, CO, with a mix of on‑campus and work‑from‑home flexibility. This role is responsible for preparing, processing, and reconciling payroll for University employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements. Day‑to‑day tasks include maintaining payroll records, reviewing timesheets and employment contracts, calculating wages and deductions, and managing payroll taxes and reporting. The Payroll Accountant collaborates with Human Resources, department administrators, and Finance to resolve payroll issues, support audits, and improve payroll processes. The role also involves using accounting and payroll software to generate financial reports, support budgeting, and contribute to continuous process improvement. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in Payroll Management and Payroll Services, with experience handling complex, multi‑department payrolls. Practical experience with Accounting Software and HR/payroll systems, including data entry, reconciliation, and reporting. Strong understanding of Payroll Taxes, wage and hour regulations, and relevant federal and state compliance requirements. Ability to interpret and apply Employment Contracts and university policies to payroll calculations and adjustments. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines in a high‑volume environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working across departments. Experience in higher education or public sector finance is beneficial; professional certification (e.g., CPP, CPA) is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
