About the Position

Job Title: Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiology Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: Four 10-hour shifts, 0700-1730, Tuesday through Friday Experience: O-arm and neuro OR experience required. License: South Carolina Clienttion Quality Standard Association Radiographer Certification Certifications: ARRT Radiography (R) Certification, BLS through the American Heart Association Must-Have: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Description: Following established protocols and under the medical supervision of certified radiologists, Radiologic Technologists will perform procedures for interpretation. Technologists will assist the radiologists as needed and oversee student Radiologic Technologists assigned to them. They will ensure patient safety and care during imaging procedures by utilizing age-appropriate care methods. Obtaining correct written orders for procedures is essential. Efficient time management is necessary to complete patient care assignments while meeting quality, quantity, and timeliness expectations. Supporting the clinical education of student technologists is part of the role. Efficient use of imaging equipment with an emphasis on minimizing repeat examinations is required. Attention to cost containment while using supplies is necessary. Instructing and preparing patients regarding imaging procedures and assisting in obtaining informed consent when needed is important. Communication with family members about discharge instructions is necessary. Technologists will respond actively and sensitively to the needs of both internal and external customers. Ensuring correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical histories are entered into the computer system is required. Effective communication with radiologists regarding procedures is crucial in both verbal and written formats. Adhering to all relevant hospital and departmental policies and safety procedures is essential. Practicing radiation protection and following established guidelines is required. Maintaining knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations is necessary. Completing annual mandatory in-services and maintaining current licensure requirements is expected. Supporting departmental efforts in achieving established projects and goals is part of the responsibilities. Holding medical and sensitive information in confidence is mandatory. Technologists will promote the mission and values of their workplace. Performing other job duties and responsibilities as required is expected.
