Automotive Mechanical Technician - Collision Center

Crown Collision Center in St. Petersburg FL is hiring a Mechanical Technician. This position is for a skilled-level technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs on mechanical-related collision damages in addition to being specialized in particular areas of repair, and who has acquired necessary skills as a general service technician. Two-Five (2-5) years of Mechanical/Technical experience is preferred. Crown Collision Center is part of Crown Automotive Group, a family-owned dealership headquartered in St. Petersburg FL. Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received. Notifies Estimator of any additional repairs needed. Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time. Road tests vehicles when required. Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management. Diagnose, service, and repair vehicles in accordance with all manufacturers’ specifications, and all applicable safety requirements. Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle. Keeps shop area neat and clean. Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received. Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles. Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Attends department meetings as requested. Reports any safety issues immediately to management. Other duties may be assigned, based on company’s needs. Qualifications Two-Five years technical experience, preferred Manufacturer Certifications, preferred ASE Certifications Lift up to 70 lbs. Special Skills and Abilities Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level. Attention to detail imperative Interpersonal/communication skills and customer service skills. Maintains professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Commitment to company values. Current and Clean Driver’s License, minimum three years, and ability to meet US employment and Crown’s eligibility requirements along with background checks and drug screen.
