Staff Technician

Qualifications: High school diploma, experience working outdoors.

Hours: Entails 75% travel, so overtime is expected. 40-80 hours per week.

Supervisor: Director of Operations, various Testing, Field, and Project Managers

Pay Range: $17 to $27 per hour.

Job Description: Essential duties include the following

• Travel to and from job site, including driving responsibilities under DOT.
• Set up and tear down equipment on-site.
• Be the “hands of the test” and stay on a stack during the sample test.
• Properly conduct on-site test of stationary stacks using different analysis and testing methods.
• Perform maintenance on equipment, keeping trucks and trailers stocked and clean.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Communication: Effectively present and analyze written and verbal information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other members of the organization.
• Math: Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Technology: Knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Email and Internet software.
