Emergency Room Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Nurse to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency services, particularly in managing an elderly population and pediatric patients in a Level II facility.

Schedule

Shift: 12 hours, Night (7 PM - 7 AM) Weekly Hours: 36 hours Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend Holiday Requirements: As needed

Job Responsibilities

The Emergency Room Nurse will be responsible for:

Providing comprehensive assessment and treatment to patients in the emergency room.
Coordinating care with other medical professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
Performing diagnostic tests, including EKGs, and interpreting the results.
Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic health record system.

Qualifications

Applicants should meet the following qualifications:

Active Illinois nursing license.
Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
NIH Stroke certification.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS) certification.
At least 2 years of experience in an emergency room setting.
Proficiency in the use of Epic electronic health record system.

Orientation

New hires will undergo an orientation process including 16 hours of non-billable training.

Testing Requirements

Candidates must submit proof of a passed EKG test with an 80% score or higher and will be required to pass an EKG test on their first day.
