Maintenance Team Lead - First Shift

Location: Wausau, WI

Position Summary

The Maintenance Team Lead provides daily leadership and coordination for maintenance team members to support safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. This role is responsible for assigning work, communicating priorities, supporting production schedules, promoting safety, and assisting with training and development of maintenance personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture and address safety concerns immediately.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and communicate daily maintenance priorities.
• Assign and coordinate daily work activities for maintenance team members.
• Ensure team members are working safely, productively, and following established schedules.
• Support production by troubleshooting issues and prioritizing maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with planners, schedulers, and supervisors to ensure parts and resources are available.
• Communicate effectively between shifts to ensure smooth operations.
• Facilitate training and cross-training to develop team capabilities and maintain coverage.
• Assist with overtime scheduling in accordance with company policies and labor agreements.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment following 5S principles.

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with production, maintenance, and support teams.
