About the Role

As our Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) , you will work closely with our dentists and clinical team to provide exceptional patient care while ensuring that treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment are properly prepared for each procedure.
You will play an essential role in helping our doctors work efficiently, supporting smooth patient flow, and creating a positive, comfortable experience for every patient.
We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, dependable, and confident in their clinical skills , with the ability to anticipate the doctor's needs and work efficiently in a busy dental practice.

Key Responsibilities

Chairside Assisting & Clinical Support

• Assist dentists during general, restorative, cosmetic, and surgical procedures.
• Perform efficient four-handed dentistry and anticipate the dentist's needs.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials before each appointment.
• Assist with procedures such as fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals, extractions, and other dental treatments.
• Take digital dental X-rays, including bitewings, periapical images, and panoramic images, as permitted by New Jersey regulations.
• Take and record patient vital signs and update medical histories.
• Provide chairside support while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Patient Care & Communication

• Welcome patients into treatment rooms and help them feel comfortable.
• Explain procedures and post-operative instructions as directed by the dentist.
• Address patient questions professionally and compassionately.
• Communicate effectively with doctors, hygienists, front desk staff, and patients.
• Help create a positive and welcoming dental experience.

Sterilization & Infection Control

• Follow all OSHA, CDC, and office infection control protocols.
• Properly clean, disinfect, sterilize, and organize dental instruments.
• Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment rooms.
• Monitor clinical supplies and notify management when inventory needs replenishment.
• Ensure dental equipment is properly maintained and functioning.

Clinical Efficiency & Teamwork

• Support smooth patient flow and timely room turnover.
• Anticipate provider needs to help procedures run efficiently.
• Assist with clinical documentation and accurate patient charting.
• Coordinate with the front desk regarding patient scheduling and treatment needs.
• Work collaboratively with the clinical team to maintain an efficient and productive schedule.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience preferred.
• Current New Jersey Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credential.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Experience with chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry.
• Knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and procedures.
• Familiarity with sterilization and infection control protocols.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Dependable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy dental practice.

Preferred

• Experience using Dentrix .
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience taking digital dental X-rays.
• Experience assisting with crowns, bridges, root canals, extractions, and implant procedures.
• Familiarity with digital impressions and modern dental technology.
• Experience with intraoral scanners.
• Ability to work independently and anticipate provider needs.
