Make a meaningful impact supporting students’ growth by working as a paraprofessional in a dynamic educational environment just east of Columbus. This contract-based opportunity offers full-time hours (40 per week) and the chance to develop valuable skills while working alongside dedicated educators and students from elementary through high school. There are multiple openings with immediate start dates, running through May 27th.
You’ll support students in classrooms designed to meet a range of learning needs, including those with multiple disabilities (MDLIC) and cross-categorical placements. Class sizes are small, fostering collaborative engagement—MDLIC classrooms have a maximum of eight students and two paraprofessionals per room. You may also work in cross-categorical or BLFIC classrooms, clustered by grade for targeted support.
Desired Background:
- ESEA qualification required: Hold an associate degree or higher, or have achieved a qualifying score on the ParaPro exam or equivalent academic assessment.
- Must be able to obtain “ESEA Qualified” designation through the Ohio Department of Education (guidance provided).
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting is a strong advantage.
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture.
- Strong communication skills and adaptability, particularly in working with students with diverse needs.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assist students with academic, behavioral, and socio-emotional support according to instructional plans.
- Collaborate with teachers and other paraprofessionals to ensure effective classroom management.
- Provide support with daily classroom activities and lesson implementation.
- Help maintain a safe and structured learning environment.
