Seadrill operates one of the most technologically advanced deepwater drilling fleets in the world. As we continue to raise the bar on safety, quality, and environmental stewardship across four global areas, we are looking for a Quality Manager who can bring both rigour and momentum to the Seadrill Management System.This is a strategic leadership role at the intersection of corporate governance and operational execution. You will translate ISM, ISO, and regulatory requirements into practical, consistent execution across 14 rigs operating in North America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. You will drive quality performance, continual improvement, and system effectiveness, ensuring that our management systems actively support safe, efficient, and reliable operations.Essential ExperienceSignificant experience in offshore drilling, maritime or oil & gas operations, ideally in a multi-rig, global fleet environment.Deep, working knowledge of the ISM Code, IMO regulations, and maritime regulatory frameworks.Proven track record in audit leadership and management system governance across multiple ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001, 50001).Demonstrated experience operating in matrix organisations with geographically diverse, international teams.Lean Six Sigma certification is desirable.Working knowledge of API Q2 and its application.What success looks like:audit rediness is the default state, not a sprint before an audit.compliance status is visible, current, and accessible to leadership at all levels.audit findings are closed effectively, with root causes addressed, not just signed off.cross-functional teams are aligned on management system obligations and trust the process.the SMS evolves through continual improvement, not just regulatory necessity.Global Quality Strategy & PerformanceDevelop and execute a global quality strategy aligned with operational excellence and fleet performanceDefine and implement quality KPIs (leading and lagging indicators) including:Repeat audit findingsAudit closure effectivenessProcedural adherenceCost of poor quality (e.g., NPT linked to system failures)Drive performance transparency through structured reporting to executive leadershipISM Compliance & Audit OversightLead global oversight of ISM Code compliance across all rigs and areas of operations.Develop and maintain the audit framework covering internal, external (Flag State, Class) audits and master’s reviews.Ensure audit findings are systematically tracked, addressed, and closed in a timely manner.Coordinate with external audit providers to ensure consistent quality and methodology.Provide ongoing assurance that the Safety Management System (SMS) remains effective and compliant.ISO & Seadrill Management System GovernanceOwn the integrity of the Seadrill Management System across ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 50001.Ensure audit readiness and certification maintenance across all applicable standards.Coordinate internal audits and certification audits in alignment with ISO requirements and functional ownership boundaries.Act as the central integrator across Quality, HSE and Environmental functions.Management ReviewPlan and facilitate the annual management review to meet ISO and ISM requirements.Consolidate audit results, performance metrics, and regulatory compliance status.Ensure outputs drive strategic actions, leadership decisions, and resource alignments.Ensure full compliance with both ISM and ISO ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 50001 Management Reviews (Cl 9.3) requirements.Conduct Quarterly Management Status Reviews with HSE Function, ensuring outputs are compatible with and feed into annual ISM Masters Review and ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 50001 Management Reviews (Cl 9.3).Legal & Regulatory FrameworkEstablish and maintain a global framework for HSE legal and regulatory registers across all operating areas.Ensure registers remain current, are aligned with local regulatory changes, meet ISO requirements for identification by competent person, and are translated into actionable compliance requirements.Provide leadership with clear visibility of regulatory changes and associated compliance risks.Audit Oversight DashboardOwn and maintain the global HSE audit oversight dashboard – providing real-time visibility of open audits, action status, overdue items, and upcoming schedules.Deliver structured reporting to Exco, Operations Directors, and Rig Managers.Drive accountability and transparency as a consistent operating discipline across the fleet.Quality Committee LeadershipChair and facilitate quarterly Quality Committee meetings with cross-functional stakeholders.Define agenda covering audit outcomes, system performance, emerging trends, and improvement initiatives.Track and close all agreed actions, ensuring governance cadence is maintained.Document Management System (SMS) OwnershipAct as system owner for the Seadrill Management System (SMS).Ensure document control integrity, version management, approval workflows, and accessibility across areas.Maintain alignment between documentation and actual operational practice on the rigs.Escalate systemic risks and compliance gaps to executive level when requiredCross-Functional & Area CoordinationProvide governance coordination across Compliance Managers (Norway, Brazil) and Roving HSEQ Advisors (dotted line).Interface with Heads of HSE Performance, Area HSE Managers, and Operations leadership to ensure consistent audit execution.Serve as the central bridge between corporate management system requirements and field-level execution.Full timePosting Date: 2026-09-15
