Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team supporting Crop Transformation Systems within Biotechnology/Trait Discovery & Optimization. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in plant science laboratory operations, tissue culture, and genome editing workflows and a proven ability to execute protocols, maintain accurate records, and contribute to process improvements. About the Role The Laboratory Technician will play a key role in executing crop transformation and genome editing experiments, supporting new technology development, and maintaining a safe laboratory environment. Responsibilities Execute crop transformation and genome editing experiments following established protocols. Accurately document experimental procedures and data in database and LIMS systems. Support new technology development and process improvement studies, including planning, hypothesis testing, observations, data collection, and analysis. Follow company safety policies and maintain a safe laboratory environment. Participate in team support activities such as explant preparation, equipment maintenance, media assessment, culture room upkeep, and information management. Provide technical support with a collaborative and respectful team approach. Summarize and report results to supervisors and present findings internally or at external meetings as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's or Associate's degree in plant science, biological science, genetics, horticulture, biotechnology, or related field. Knowledge of general laboratory operations and adherence to safety practices. Experience following written procedures, conducting experiments independently, sampling, and maintaining detailed records. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with databases and/or LIMS is a plus. Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and as a team member. Required Skills Plant tissue culture and transformation experience. Experience with genome engineering workflows and continuous improvement initiatives.
