PHARMACY MANAGER

Pharmacy Manager – Employee Pharmacy Education Requirements: Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Licensed pharmacist or eligible for pharmacist licensure in the State of Georgia. Experience: Minimum of 3 years retail and/or health‑system pharmacy experience preferred. Required Skills and Responsibilities: The Pharmacy Manager practices as a pharmacist and oversees medication procurement, storage, and preparation. Responsibilities include ensuring optimal pharmacy services, facilitating safe medication use, meeting legal, accreditation, and certification requirements, and complying with all policies and standards. Pharmacists fill orders, monitor patient therapies, provide drug information, and supervise/direct support personnel. The Manager must work independently, handle stress, collaborate with health‑system and pharmacy staff, manage frequent interruptions, adapt to workload changes, set priorities, make critical decisions, respond to emergencies, exercise professional judgment, communicate effectively, and meet the pharmaceutical care needs of patient populations (neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric). Physical Demands: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., preparing IV admixtures, computer keyboard use); may require lifting up to 40 lbs; sitting, walking, or standing for 4‑12 hours; must operate equipment. Supervisory Relationships: Supervises pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, technician students, pharmacy interns, practice residents, and volunteers. Supervised by: Archbold Director of Pharmacy, Assistant Vice President of Health Services.
