Auto Maintenance Technician II $4000 New Hire Bonus (Manheim Georgia)

Job Title Auto Maintenance Technician II – Cox Automotive Job Overview Mid-level automotive technician working day shift schedule with a rotating Saturday every other week. Must work on-site at a specified Cox location; no remote option; travel percent as required. Compensation Hourly base pay rate: $22.02 – $33.08 per hour. Additional compensation may include commission and incentive programs. Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance (e.g., change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, inspection for mechanical deficiencies). Based on certification level perform repairs and maintenance, including OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune-ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, state safety inspections, interior/exterior components, engine and drive‑line components. Maintain and repair shop equipment; keep shop area clean and tidy. Follow safety standards; dispose of all fluids safely and in accordance with regulations. Create and maintain vehicle history and maintenance records. Uphold new vehicles with necessary equipment (up‑fit). Complete light to major repairs; conduct advanced vehicle diagnostics. Coordinate with vendors for parts and repairs to assure prompt service. Provide roadside assistance as needed. Use custom equipment for moderate design/fabrication tasks, including welding. Troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic, generator, electrical, hybrid, and onboard computer systems in specialized trucks. Interact directly with customers, demonstrating exceptional interpersonal skills and integrity. Diagnose, repair, and replace general automotive parts and accessories, including brakes, drivability, emissions, steering/suspension, electrical, HVAC, major engine, and hydraulics. Qualifications Minimum: High school diploma or GED (or 3+ years of related vehicle service experience). 3+ years of vehicle service and repair experience. Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles. Valid driver's license and safe driving record. Preferred: Ongoing training to maintain current ASE status and meet evolving technology and fleet changes. Some ASE Automotive or Truck Certification or related certifications. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, climbing. Tolerate excess noise, car exhaust, and outdoor weather conditions. Computer vision: close, distance, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment. Drug Testing Pre‑employment drug test required. No drug test for marijuana for this position.
