Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care UnitAmerican TravelerBurlington, North Carolina, United StatesAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13$1,987.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit night shift position requiring 2+ years of Cardiac PCU experience and EPIC proficiency.Details30-private bed Cardiac Medical Progressive Care unit providing 24/7 careRooms are remotely monitored by the Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department (CCMD)Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AMWeekend rotation required with holidays as neededPatient ratios typically 1:5, with 1:4 for patients on drips or BiPAPSchedules self-assisted through Optilink on a 6-week rolling basisNurse Assistants available 24/7; RN secretary support from 7 AM-11 PMUses EPIC EMRFloating to any Cone Health campus may be requiredRequirementsActive RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand at time of considerationBLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferredMinimum 2 years of Cardiac PCU experience requiredExperience with 1:5 patient ratios requiredPrevious Charge RN experience preferredRequired skills: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, pre/post cardiac cath care, peripheral line and PICC line management, cardiac and vasoactive drip management (titration and non-titration), procedural sedation administration, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), external CPAP/BiPAP, and tracheostomy careEPIC EMR experience requiredMust pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)Additional InformationProvide care to a cardiac patient population including CHF, ACS, arrhythmias, pre/post cardiac catheterization, rule-out MI, syncope, and pacemaker placementSecondary focus on respiratory conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, and BiPAP managementUse of Rapid Response/Code teams preferred experienceMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rate; no local candidates consideredRTO must be submitted with application; no post-submission RTO acceptedFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyHours per week: 36Hours per shift: 12
