Position Summary

HHI Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented  Construction Project Assistant (PA)to provide administrative and project coordination support to Project Managers on federal construction projects valued up to $50 million.

This position plays an important role in keeping projects organized and on track by managing project documentation, supporting subcontractor coordination, maintaining project records, and assisting with day-to-day project activities. The Project Assistant will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, clients, and other team members to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish, organize, and maintain project and job site documentation
• Manage drawing logs and ensure document control accuracy
• Track, log, and distribute project documents as directed by the Project Manager
• Maintain project files in Procore construction management software
• Process and file subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders
• Track subcontractor compliance documents (insurance, lien releases, affidavits)
• Assist with bid coordination and buyout processes, including distributing plans/specs and logging proposals
• Support Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination
• Compile project closeout packages, including O&M manuals
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and client information
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and clients
• Perform general administrative and project support duties as needed 
• Ability to properly communicate over the phone and in writing to upper management including Owners, PM’s, Superintendents, and Corporate Safety.  
• Ability to work with government and non-government personnel in a professional and clear manner. 

Qualifications (Required)

• 2+ years of experience in commercial or industrial construction (federal project experience preferred)
• Basic ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) 
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Honest, reliable, professional, and self-motivated
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and government security clearance
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
