Speech Language Pathologist

JOB SUMMARY

Provide comprehensive speech-language pathology services to pediatric and adult patients in both outpatient and inpatient (acute) settings. This role focuses on evaluation and treatment of various speech therapy populations, including pediatrics, adult neuro, and dysphagia. Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team is essential, including co-treatment when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs and goals.
• Provide direct therapeutic intervention for speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing impairments in pediatric, adult neuro, and dysphagia populations.
• Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in accordance with facility and professional standards.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care planning.
• Engage in co-treatment with other disciplines as indicated by patient needs.
• Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and home exercise programs.
• Stay current with best practices and advancements in speech-language pathology.

Schedule / Shift

• 4x9s shift schedule
• 36 hours per week
• Tentative schedule: Tuesday - Friday, subject to change based on operational needs

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
• Licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Ohio.
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Demonstrated experience working with pediatric populations.

Skills

• Proficient in evaluating and treating a wide range of speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders.
• Strong understanding of adult neurogenic communication and swallowing disorders.
• Experience with outpatient and inpatient (acute) care settings.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.

Certifications

• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
