Budget AnalystSalary Range $72,406.00 - $80,000.00 Salary Level Experienced Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level 4 Year Degree Travel Percentage Negligible Category AccountingDescriptionThis position reports directly to the VP, Fiscal Evaluation and Compliance with a dotted line to the Executive Director for the local U.S.VETS site. The primary responsibility of this position is to generate grant and contract billing, preparation of annual budgets, and to review and monitor the fiscal performance of each program at the site to ensure financial stability.FLSA Classification: ExemptResponsibilitiesGeneration and submission of grant and contract funding requestsEnsure timely collection of all site-related receivablesEnsure all financial activity complies with all internal Policies and Procedures as well as all Federal, State, and Local regulatory requirementsEnsure that all financial activities are in alignment with grant applications and awardsPreparation of site annual operating budget as well as grant budgets in conjunction with the Site Operations Manager and Executive DirectorPrepare grant budget modifications when necessaryMonitor the site, program, and grant financial performance and coordinate with the National Office on any necessary action itemsWork with the Site Operations Manager in preparing and submitting funder required financial reportsPreparation of required internal financial reports and analysis as necessaryPerform other necessary site-related accounting functionsParticipate in staff meetings and report on financial status of siteParticipate in site activities and special projects as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting or related fieldMinimum 2 years of related experience required, Non-profit experience in related field preferredAt least 2 years in leadership, management, or supervisory role preferredKnowledge of OMB CircularsExperience working with Non-Profit Fund Accounting Software (MIP preferred)Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong computer skillsProfessional manner and appearanceAbility to work independently and within a teamAbility to take direction
