Position Overview
Announcement: Exciting opportunity for an Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Cardiologist at our organization.
Join our vibrant team and contribute to the well-being of ACHD patients. We are in search of a committed and enthusiastic ACHD cardiologist to enhance our expanding program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional outpatient and inpatient care to ACHD patients.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to create personalized treatment strategies.
- Participate in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows in pediatric cardiology and adult cardiovascular diseases.
- Engage in research projects and initiatives.
- Take part in advocacy efforts for ACHD at both state and national levels.
Facility and Program Details:
Our Heart Care Center is home to the largest ACHD program in Arizona and is the only ACHA Accredited Comprehensive Care Center in the state. The program features a team of 24 cardiologists, 13 cardiac intensivists, 3 cardiovascular surgeons, and 24 advanced practice providers. We provide ambulatory cardiac services throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area and have outreach clinics across greater Arizona. Our organization is among the largest pediatric health systems in the nation and serves as a premier hub for pediatric care in the Southwest. Inpatient ACHD services are provided at our facility and in collaboration with our adult partner hospital, a major academic medical center known for its esteemed Norton Thoracic and Barrow Neurologic Institutes. The selected candidate will play a crucial role alongside the Heart Center teams at both locations.

Qualifications:
- M.D. or equivalent qualification.
- Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Cardiology through the American Board of Pediatrics.
- Board certified or eligible in Adult Congenital Heart Disease via the American Board of Internal Medicine.
- Eligible for medical licensure in Arizona.
Affiliations and Academic Roles:
Our organization collaborates with the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix. ACHD cardiologists will hold academic positions within the divisions of Child Health and Internal Medicine.

Position Duties
- Patient Care Services:
- Deliver patient care services for which you are clinically privileged, including but not limited to:
- Direct patient care on both inpatient and outpatient bases.
- Provide subspecialty consultations and follow-up care.
- Administer diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures.
- Offer urgent/emergent care as required.
- Aim for optimal patient and family-centered care.
- Support the hospital's patient satisfaction objectives and division-specific targets.
- Adhere to divisional standards for patient safety and quality of care.
- Practice contemporary evidence-based medicine or the latest experience-based approaches.
- Divisional Responsibilities:
- Set and strive to meet annual goals and objectives for physicians (individual, division, hospital).
- Support the medical education initiatives of the division, including:
- Supervising trainees and allied health professionals in delivering inpatient and outpatient services when applicable.
- Conducting teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences for trainees.
- Participating in the education and supervision of trainees and allied health professionals assigned to the division.
- Engaging in postgraduate continuing education activities within the division.
- Contribute to the division's research efforts, including initiatives led by other members.
- Support the growth of the division's programs.
- Assist with satellite efforts of the division when appropriate.

- Essential physical and mental skills include:
- Effective communication via telephone, computer, or other devices.
- Ability to fulfill after-hours or night call responsibilities as necessary.
- Consistent attendance during scheduled work hours.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
