CAD Drafter

OVERVIEW
Insight Global is seeking a CAD Drafter to join a growing engineering team in Syracuse, NY. This individual will support engineers and project teams by creating, modifying, and maintaining technical drawings and documentation using AutoCAD and other drafting software. The ideal candidate will have approximately one year of drafting experience and be looking to further develop their technical design skills in a collaborative environment.

This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret engineering specifications, and a willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced engineering organization.

Candidates have to be open to working fully onsite in Syracuse. There is no hybrid flexibility. Working hours are Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm.


RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and revise 2D and 3D technical drawings based on engineering specifications and project requirements
- Prepare detailed layouts, schematics, and construction/manufacturing drawings using CAD software
- Review designs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards
- Maintain drawing revisions and engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Work closely with engineers, project managers, and production teams to incorporate design changes
- Organize and manage drawing files, records, and documentation
- Assist with project coordination and drafting support as needed
- Ensure all deliverables are completed within established timelines

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Compensation ranges between $55-60k.
- Candidate will have access to medical, dental, and vision benefits from day one on contract along with 401k after 90 days.
- Weekly payroll.

Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1+ years of CAD drafting experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, dimensions, and drafting standards
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite


Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field
- Experience in a manufacturing, mechanical, architectural, civil, or engineering environment
Exposure to Civil 3D, SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor, or similar design software
- Experience managing drawing revisions and documentation control
- Understanding of industry drafting standards and best practices
