The role also includes responsibility for opening and locking the site each day. Key Responsibilities Clean designated areas including classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, kitchens, and communal spaces. Carry out routine cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitising surfaces, and emptying waste bins. Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and stored appropriately. Report maintenance issues, damage, or health and safety concerns to the appropriate person. Open and secure the building daily in accordance with site procedures. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the premises. Follow health and safety procedures, including safe handling of cleaning materials. Undertake any other cleaning-related duties appropriate to the role. Requirements Experience Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential. Experience working within a school, childcare, or similar environment is desirable. Skills & Knowledge Knowledge of cleaning methods and safe use of cleaning products. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Good attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness. Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual. Understanding of health and safety requirements relating to cleaning duties.
