Job Skills / Requirements

This is an on-call/flex position and provides coverage for absences and additional cleaning for Grand Haven Area Public Schools. The role is a great fit for anyone looking for flexible evening work.

Responsibilities of School Custodian/Janitor:

• Follow all company and facility cleaning procedures
• Clean, sanitize and restock restrooms and common areas
• Empty trash and recyclable receptacles
• Clean and disinfect hard surfaces
• Vacuum, sweep and mop floors
• Clean interior windows/doors
• Report maintenance issues, supply needs and other concerns to a Team Lead or Manager

Requirements of Custodian/Janitor:

• No Experience, No Problem!
• Dependable and reliable attendance
• Ability to work independently and stay on task
• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to use motorized equipment (vacuum, hand operated floor cleaners)
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and safety related materials
• MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK & FINGERPRINTING

Custodians/Janitors have daily exposure to cleaning solutions.


Hiring for both part-time (P/T) & full-time (F/T)


1st Shift (Days) - P/T is 11:00am to 2:00pm

2nd Shift (Evenings) - P/T is 4:00pm to 8:00pm or 6:00pm to 10:00pm & F/T is 4:00pm to 12:30am
