The Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for supporting and carrying out the trade school's fundraising, grant development, and resource-development efforts. They will research, identify, pursue, and assist in securing funding from federal, state, and local government agencies, foundations, corporations, individual donors, and community partners.

A primary focus of this position is identifying qualified funding opportunities and developing high-quality, competitive grant applications that support the school's workforce-development programs, skilled-trades training, student services, equipment and technology needs, and program expansion.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of successful grant writing and securing grant or philanthropic funding, strong research and written communication skills, and hands-on experience using Instrumentl, SAM.gov, Grants.gov, and similar grant research and funding platforms.

This position is remote and requires an individual who can work independently, manage multiple deadlines, maintain consistent communication with leadership and internal departments, and demonstrate measurable progress toward established fundraising and grant-development goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and identify federal, state, local, foundation, corporate, and private funding opportunities that align with the school's mission, programs, and financial needs.
  • Utilize Instrumentl, SAM.gov, Grants.gov, foundation databases, government funding portals, and similar platforms to identify and evaluate potential funding opportunities.
  • Regularly monitor grant databases, government announcements, foundation opportunities, and other funding sources for new opportunities.
  • Review funding opportunities to determine organizational eligibility, program alignment, application requirements, funding amounts, deadlines, and competitiveness.
  • Coordinate the full grant application process, including prospect research, proposal development, budgeting support, application preparation, submission, tracking, reporting, renewals, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, concept papers, grant narratives, reports, presentations, and other funding-related materials.
  • Coordinate with leadership, Finance, Career Services, program departments, and other internal departments to obtain information and documentation necessary for grant applications.
  • Identify funding opportunities related to workforce development, skilled trades, career and technical education (CTE), equipment, technology, student services, youth initiatives, workforce training, and program expansion.
  • Research and pursue corporate sponsorships, foundation support, donor opportunities, employer partnerships, and other potential sources of financial support.
  • Assist with developing fundraising campaigns, sponsorship opportunities, donor communications, and partnership initiatives.
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date grant and fundraising pipeline that includes prospective funders, funding amounts, eligibility requirements, application deadlines, submission dates, application status, award decisions, reporting requirements, and renewal dates.
  • Maintain accurate grant, donor, prospect, corporate partner, and fundraising records using applicable tracking, CRM, and grant-management systems.
  • Track submitted applications and follow up on pending funding decisions when appropriate.
  • Assist with post-award grant administration, including monitoring reporting deadlines, deliverables, documentation, and renewal requirements.
  • Track fundraising and grant-development performance, including opportunities identified, applications submitted, dollars requested, grants awarded, dollars secured, and upcoming deadlines.
  • Provide regular written updates and reports to leadership regarding grant research, applications, fundraising activities, awards, and upcoming funding opportunities.
  • Participate in scheduled virtual meetings and maintain regular communication with leadership and collaborating departments.
  • Maintain organized electronic files and supporting documentation for grant applications, awards, reports, and fundraising activities.
  • Stay informed of government funding priorities, workforce-development initiatives, philanthropic trends, and emerging grant opportunities.
  • Protect confidential organizational, employee, student, donor, financial, and grant-related information while working remotely.
  • Perform other fundraising, grant-development, research, and administrative duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, public administration, fundraising, education, or a related field preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of demonstrated experience in grant writing, fundraising, development, grant coordination, institutional advancement, or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully securing grants, philanthropic funding, corporate sponsorships, or other financial support.
  • Demonstrated experience researching, developing, preparing, and submitting competitive grant proposals.
  • Hands-on experience using Instrumentl, SAM.gov, Grants.gov, and/or comparable grant prospecting, research, government funding, or grant-management platforms.
  • Ability to independently search grant databases and government funding portals, evaluate opportunities, determine organizational eligibility, and identify qualified funding prospects.
  • Experience with federal, state, local, foundation, and/or corporate funding opportunities preferred.
  • Understanding of grant development, application requirements, budgeting, compliance, reporting, renewals, and post-award requirements.
  • Excellent grant-writing, research, written communication, proofreading, and organizational skills.
  • Strong project-management and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/365 , including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience using donor-management, CRM, fundraising, project-management, or grant-management systems preferred.
  • Ability to maintain grant trackers, funding pipelines, calendars, electronic records, and performance reports.
  • Knowledge of workforce development, career and technical education, skilled trades, education, nonprofit organizations, or government-funded workforce programs preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, professional, and timely work.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with leadership and internal departments.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, discretion, accountability, and commitment to the school's mission.
