Description:

As a quality rework team member, working within the quality department, you will be responsible for ensuring that products outside of normal specifications are “reworked” and brought back into allowed specification and or tolerance. You will be responsible for carrying out tasks assigned by your supervisor while working with other team members, supervisors, and managers. You will be required to work in a safe and courteous manner and ensure that your work area is kept clean and free of any hazards that may impede your ability to perform your job safely. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Inspect products for defects, damage, or quality concerns.

· Repair or rework products according to company quality standards.

· Sort and identify products requiring rework or disposal.

· Read and follow work instructions, production specifications, and quality procedures.

· Operate hand tools and basic production equipment safely.

· Maintain accurate records of reworked materials and completed work.

· Communicate quality issues with supervisors and production teams.

· Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.

· Assist with inventory movement and material handling as needed.

· Support production goals while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

· Comply with Modern Mill safety and operation policies and procedures.

· Ability to read and use a tape measure within 1/32in of accuracy.

· Ability to use a palm/belt sander and skill saw safely and accurately.

· Ensure compliance with company standards and specifications for quality products.

· Cut and sand boards within company specifications.

· Maintain accurate records of pallets pulled and completed.

· Attend and complete all training courses.

· Identify areas of improvement.

Safety

Follow established safety regulations, including fire protection/prevention, smoking regulations, wearing proper PPE, etc. Follow established policies and procedures governing lifting techniques, repetitive tasks, and the use of safety equipment to prevent work-related injuries or illness. Complete all Safety Modules by deadlines.

Working Conditions

· Works inside a warehouse.

· Spends most of the time standing or walking.

· Works in hot and cold weather.

· Works at ground level.

· Operates and works around heavy equipment.

· Operates power tools including high-speed saws with sharp blades.

· Works around dust, odors, and other air contaminants.

· Moves frequently during working hours.

· Operates and works around moving machinery.

· Is subject to overtime.

· Bends and lifts a minimum of 50lbs frequently.

· Works in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

Education 

General Education 

Experience

Manufacturing experience preferred but not required, on-the-job training provided.

Requirements

· Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

· Must be able to understand/carry out written and oral instructions.

· Must be able to read a measuring tape effectively.

· Must keep attendance in good standing.

· Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs to a minimum height of 5’ feet and/or carry up to 20 feet.

· Must be a supportive team member, contributor to and be an example of teamwork and team concept.

· Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

· Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with others.

· Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.

· Good knowledge about industry products and company standards.

· Ability to drive and operate a forklift.
