Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our school-based team in Osceola County, Florida ! In this role, you will provide occupational therapy services to students with exceptional needs and help them develop the functional skills necessary to participate and succeed in the school environment.

The Occupational Therapist will work closely with students, teachers, families, and other members of the educational team to support student progress and ensure therapy services align with individual educational needs and IEP goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide school-based occupational therapy services to eligible students in accordance with their IEPs and individual needs.
• Evaluate students' functional abilities and identify areas impacting their participation in the educational environment.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions.
• Address areas such as fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, self-care, handwriting, and functional school skills .
• Collaborate with teachers, ESE staff, related service providers, families, and other members of the IEP team.
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations regarding students' occupational therapy needs and progress.
• Incorporate therapeutic strategies into classroom routines and educational activities when appropriate.
• Recommend and assist with appropriate accommodations, adaptations, equipment, and environmental modifications.
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on individual needs and response to treatment.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and other required records.
• Educate and collaborate with school staff and families to support carryover of therapeutic strategies.
• Ensure all services are provided in accordance with Florida regulations, professional standards, and school/district requirements.
