As a leader in non-prime lending and merchant acquiring, we combine innovative technology with data-driven insights to help underserved consumers build and strengthen credit while delivering integrated, scalable payment solutions for businesses.Merrick Bank ranks among the top 20 FDIC-insured credit card issuers in the U.S. and among the top 15 merchant acquirers by transaction volume.**Position Summary**The **Manager, Card Business Analytics** drives profitable growth, optimizes credit performance, and advances analytical rigor across Merrick Bank’s credit card business with a direct and meaningful P&L impact on the overall credit card business. This role contributes to a wide spectrum of programs and workstreams across the customer lifecycle - including acquisitions, credit line management, portfolio monitoring, valuations and more.Additionally, this role partners closely with cross‐functional teams including Modeling, Finance, Marketing, Legal, and Compliance. The position requires strong quantitative expertise, strategic foresight, and the ability to translate insights into high‐impact business decisions that support both near‐term goals and long‐term portfolio health. The Manager role contributes to a highly talented team working on data-driven solutions to core business problems leveraging cutting-edge analytics, with expertise in Python, SQL, and Microsoft Excel/VBA along with knowledge of PowerBI or Tableau.**Essential Functions*** Contributes to the design and optimization of integrated credit strategies, including credit line management, acquisition policies, and product frameworks to balance growth and risk.* Contributes to innovation in valuation methodologies, decision frameworks, analytics, and modeling integration to improve portfolio performance and profitability.* Performs valuation exercises across programs such as credit line increases and new account acquisitions, ensuring assumptions and economics are accurate and optimized.* Conducts periodic model monitoring and recommends valuation changes, tracking outcomes to ensure value creation.* Designs, launches, and monitors A/B and multivariate tests that enhance credit strategies and identify new growth opportunities.* Maintains the test inventory, creates iterative testing roadmaps, and institutionalizes learnings across teams.* Supports and enhances performance monitoring suites, leads reporting forums, and develops insights to inform strategy updates.* Performs ongoing monitoring of strategic initiatives to ensure expected results and early identification of emerging risks.* Partners with channel owners, Data Science/Modeling, Finance, and other teams to ensure strategic alignment and high‐quality execution.* Socializes strategies, influences business decisions, and presents insights and recommendations to senior leadership and executives.* Serves as a champion of change, communicating effectively and leading from the front in a fast‐paced environment.**Compliance with Laws & Regulations:*** Responsible for complying with all of the Bank’s internal control policies and procedures.* Responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations to which the Bank is subject.* Responsible for communicating problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, noncompliance with laws and regulations, policy violations, or illegal acts.**Education and Experience:*** Bachelor's Degree in an analytical or quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Intelligence, Finance, or Engineering is required.* Master's Degree in an analytical or quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Intelligence, Finance, or Engineering is preferred.* Two (2) years’ experience (with a Master’s Degree) or three (3) years’ experience (with Bachelor’s degree) in data analytics, strategy execution, decision engine, cloud data, or equivalent experience is required.* Previous experience in financial services, consulting, or corporate strategy is preferred.**Summary of Qualifications:*** Profound expertise in Python, SQL, and Microsoft Excel/VBA.* Proficiency with PowerBI, Tableau, or similar tools.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.* Comfort with ambiguity and working hands-on with large analytical datasets to perform complex analyses.* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.* Demonstrated strengths with problem-solving, critical thinking, detail-orientation, and organization.* Advanced quantitative skills, including knowledge of probability, statistical inference, and regression analysis principles.#INDHP1 **Why join us**We believe in putting people first by supporting our customers, employees and our partners while creating opportunities for everyone to reach their potential.
