Job Description

A hotel breakfast attendant's main responsibilities are to prepare, set up, maintain, and clean the breakfast area to provide a positive and satisfying experience for guests, which involves stocking food and beverages, basic food preparation, cleaning the dining area every day, and providing excellent customer service. They ensure all food items are fresh and at the correct temperature, respond to guest needs, and adhere to strict health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Setup and Preparation:

Get the breakfast area ready by arranging food and beverage stations, setting out plates and utensils, and preparing items like waffle batter or fruit platters. Keeping all items well stocked in guests’ sight.

• Food and Beverage Management:

Keep all food and drink items, such as fruits, pastries, cereals, and beverages, stocked and at the correct temperature. All breakfast items should be well socketed until 9:00AM closing. Guests should have the same amount and quality of food at 8:59AM as the guests at 6:00AM. You may NOT begin tear down before 9:00AM because it is slow.

• Guest Interaction:

Welcome guests, answer questions about the menu, and provide information about the hotel or local area. Including but not limited to giving information about where to get tickets to local attractions and the local favorite about every restaurant.

• Cleaning and Maintenance:

Continuously clean and sanitize the dining area, including tables, chairs, countertops, and floors, and wash dishes and utensils throughout service. Everyday cleaning and sanitizing.

• Health and Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all food safety guidelines and maintain a clean and sanitary working environment at all times.

• Teardown and Reset:

At the end of the breakfast service, break down the buffet, clean the area, including but not limited to everyday wipe down of table chairs counter tops and cupboard doors and prepare it for the next meal period or hotel operations. Everyday task of vacuum and mop breakfast room and the kitchen.

The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, such as stocking food, cleaning, and serving guests.

• Physical Stamina:

The ability to stand for extended periods and lift items like coffee pots or supplies and heavy garbage bags and place in dumpster.

• Communication:

Strong verbal communication skills to interact effectively with guests and staff.
